I had planned to blog a monumental essay on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&#038;ct=res&#038;cd=1&#038;url=http%3A\/\/www.monkees.net\/&#038;ei=9FgFQ46oLpPO4QHZivCJDg\">Monkees<\/a>, specifically the strong anti-war message in the rousing <em>Randy Scouse Git<\/em>, and their lingering, oft-overlooked effect on American military morale throughout the &#8217;70s on up to the Grenada operation.  Alas!  Work has short-circuited that plan.  Another day, Pre-fab Four, another day.<\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m on the topic of music, JohnL at <a href=\"http:\/\/texasbestgrok.mu.nu\/\">TexasBestGrok<\/a> points the way to some &#8230; hmm &#8230; interesting <a href=\"http:\/\/texasbestgrok.mu.nu\/archives\/112635.php\">Flash videos<\/a>.  I particulary recommend this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.albinoblacksheep.com\/flash\/hobbits\">catchy one<\/a> based on the LotR movies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230; they pull me back in.
