{"id":1290,"date":"2006-01-04T00:16:38","date_gmt":"2006-01-04T06:16:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/targetcentermass.net\/?p=1290"},"modified":"2006-01-04T10:13:18","modified_gmt":"2006-01-04T16:13:18","slug":"by-request-more-on-weapons-allowed-on-flights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/targetcentermass.net\/?p=1290","title":{"rendered":"By Request:  More on Weapons Allowed on Flights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yeah, I know, internet petitions are, to steal from <a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0364725\/\"><em>Dodgeball<\/em><\/a>, the online equivalent of a &#8220;bunch of retards trying to hump a doorknob.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Still, I received an email today from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.afanet.org\/\">Association of Flight Attendants<\/a> in response to my blogging against the recent Transportation Security Administration decision to once again allow small knives and sharp tools on airline flights [see <a href=\"http:\/\/targetcentermass.net\/?p=1218\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/targetcentermass.net\/?p=1227\">here<\/a>].  The association hoped I would publicize their drive against the decision.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the fact that I despise online petitions in general, and the concept that such spammable means could ever effect public policy in particular, I will link to the AFA&#8217;s site, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leaveallbladesbehind.com\/\">Leave All Blades Behind.com<\/a>, if only for the sake of hopefully spreading the word against what I feel is a tragic mistake.  Fine, so Joe Schmoe gives up his handy pocket knife;  the people running this probably-worthless petition are the ones in a position that all too recently faced boxcutters held by murderous bastards.
