A Get-to-know-me Meme

Carrying on a meme found by Phil at Shades of Gray (Umbrae Canarum), here’s a chance for y’all to both entertain and get to know me, your humble blogger.

It’s simple, and if anyone participates by leaving a comment, I will respond early next week.

A. First, recommend to me:
1. A movie:
2. A book:
3. A musical artist, song, or album:

B. Ask me three questions, no more, no less. You may ask me anything you want (however, I reserve the right to weasel out of answering if I feel it’s necessary!).

C. Copy and paste this in your blog. (Well, only if you feel like it!)

    Movie – “The Beast”
Book – “His Excellency, George Washington”, Joseph Ellis
    Music – The Ramones

    Questions:

    1. Do you have any children?
    2. What was the best part of serving in the military?
    3. What’s your favorite alcoholic drink?

I’ll post it on my blog too.

“The Beast” — loved it but it’s been a long time. I’ll have to score the DVD (yes, it’s available) and watch it again, especially in light of the current U.S. role in Afghanistan.

I’ll look into the Washington book. As to the Ramones, I’ll happily give them a listen later, because I wanna be sedated.

    Answers:
    1) No kids yet.
    2) Gunnery. No wait, camaraderie. No wait, the sense of honor of serving. No wait, chicks dug the uniform. Seriously, operating (not maintaining!) the tank and the great Americans I was lucky to serve with and get to know.
    3) Depends on the situation. Typically it’s just plain ol’ Miller Lite. If I just want to relax and sip a few brews, I’ll go with Killian’s Irish Red or Red Stripe. I occasionally dig a glass of zinfandel or a perfect Chopin vodka martini with a twist. Sometimes, tequila shots are in order.

Heh, at my age tequila shots are never in order. I am no longer in good enough shape for the three stages of tequila. #2 absolutely.

Yeah, I must admit it’s been a while since my last tequila shot, or even vodka martini for that matter. Ah, the years on the body do betray the youth of the mind.

Nowadays, it’s generally coffee and beer, though I don’t like the tastes together or I’d drink Guinness.
